What is this?
Got a question I am restoring a 1970 C10 Chevy It is a base model no frills from the factory, when I removed the gas tank today to access the rear cab to frame mounting bolts I noticed some kind of spring contraption on the inside passenger side about equal to the latch assy. Did this have some thing to do with storing the jack handle? Thanks.

Re: What is this?
I thought that also but there is a bottle jack on the floor in-between the gas tank and the cab corner it is attacked to the floor in what looks like a original strap down device the spring I am talking about is about 2' up the cab corner towards the roof however there was only a very short tire iron just loose beside the jack. Thanks for the quick reply

Re: What is this?
The bottle jack is not original..... it should be a screw-type jack. As stated, it was held in place by that spring contraption.

Re: What is this?
There should be a bag with the jack handles in it that fits in the corner behind the door striker and then the jack goes on the floor behind the seat.that's how it is in my 68.

Re: What is this?
Also the rear cab bolts should have captured nuts inside the cab, so you don't have to remove the tank to get to them.

Re: What is this?
Thanks for the answers it is appreciated I didn't think the lug wrench I found behind the seat looked way to small and I wanted to make sure there was no rust on the floor and get a new coat of paint in the cab so I stripped it clean.
