J.P. Stevens & Co. Inc

Recently I was looking for my build sheet for my 1971 Gmc truck. No luck yet but I did come across a tag for J.P. Stevens & Co inc. The tag reads J.P. Stevens &Co inc # 3997041 1970- T Black 1971 Chevrolet Truck Front Low Tunnel 07/27/70. Has anyone ever seen this tag or can give me some information about it. Thanks in advance. 1968 chevy I- 6 3on the tree - 1971 Gmc 454 turbo 400 - 1953 Chevy I- 6 turbo 350.

J.P stevens was an OEM carpet supplier ,The tag came off the original carpet the "low front tunnel " and the #3997041 are part designations , I remember seeing those tags in the 1970's you can read the reference to them in the "about" section of ACC Auto Custom Carpets

How rare are the sheets anyways? Seems like there are plenty of people that have found them.

Re: J.P. Stevens & Co. Inc

I'm amazed at how many people here show up with their build sheets. I have owned a whole lot of original trucks and have only found a couple. I've turned up those carpet tags in about every truck I've pulled original carpet from. I knew that name looked familiar.
