suspension ?????????

I installed a Belltech flipkit in my 80 fleetside shorty on the weekend. It already had the Belltech drop rear leaf shackles. Should I go back to a stock rear hanger to start??? It now sits about 2 " too low. My question is how many spring leafs are in a stock rear leaf? I only have 2 leafs now. Should I add 1 more? I have Belltech nitro drop shocks but one is just about bottomed out so I think I will go with a stiffer shock. Any suggestions on shocks??? I did not do the frame notch as of yet. I actually feel pretty good about doing it myself as I am 59 yrs old boys, no air tools, no lifts, no fancy workshop.

Re: suspension ?????????

I'm a bit confused on what all you have. You did the flip so that should give you about 5" along with the shackle for another two. You mention the springs which I understand, but you also ask about the hanger? Do you have lowering springs and a raised spring hanger?

If so, I would remove the hanger and replace it with the stock hanger. If that doesn't get you where you want to be, then add a leaf to your spring pack.

To answer your question about the stock springs, some came with 5 and some with 7 leaves. There are also two different lengths.

Re: suspension ?????????

Thanks for the reply. I will go back to the stock hanger and see where that gets me. Should I go with a stiffer shock also? Go ahead and move this to the suspension section. I should have put it there in the first place.
