Well, I did it again.....

-
I bought this truck this morning. I know these are getting pretty hard to find so when he told me what he wanted for it I jumped on it. Overall pretty decent for an Iowa truck. It was rebuilt years ago but it is starting to show it's age. I probably won't pick it up for a couple of days but it isn't too far from me.

'71 K/20 Shortbed? Tires look OK.
Dog house is all over the place.
V8 of some nature.
Fuel tank on the Passenger Side, aft of the cab -- Squarebody frame?

Agreed ... for an Iowa truck it looks solid. Nice score.

Re: Well, I did it again.....

Looks like standard 67-72 K20 stuff to me, that don’t look like a short bed. I don’t think that’s a gas tank on the passenger side behind the cab, looks like a box or something on the ground. Wonder what’s up with the plate welded across the frame where the rear shock mounts are? Looks like 2-4” springs up front too.
I wonder if it had front hooks originally, I do agree it looks like 71 door panels and mirror placement, pretty sure all 72 K frames had the holes for the hooks but the earlier years only had holes if they were ordered.

I have enough nuts, bolts and other stuff to put a couple of them together.

Long bed, 350/TH350. The black plastic box under it is a small floating dock for a watercraft or something like that.

Plate was for a gooseneck trailer ball I think. It has lift springs in front and blocks in the rear. Those will probably go bye, bye. Not sure yet.

I just got back from paying him and getting the title & bill of sale.

Re: Well, I did it again.....

I was hoping you’d say you were trying to save it. The 4x4s are getting harder to find in buildable shape these days.

I agree. It would have to be in really bad shape for me to consider parting it out.

I truly envy you guys with enough land to put some trucks on. I missed out on a really nice step side Eric (Chevyland) was selling, when I realized that I had no place to park it.

I'm sure this has been beaten to death around here, but....th350 in a 3/4 ton? Is that normal?

I find it funny people post threads like this on this site, acting like...someday, we're gonna be upset about it and tell you not to do it again.

And that was/is a shame. The TH350 was barely capable in a half ton, let alone a three quarter ton.
