68 swb keep or sell?

I have my 1968 swb im thinking about getting rid of to buy a 51 chevy truck? i have lost interest after getting burned by the body shop. everything is powder coated with new: 383 stroaker 559 whp,built th400 trans, billet converter, rolled dash, no rust, 22" intros, full air ride technologies in the box, posi, flaming river tilt, rebuilt dash: tach, vacuum, speed warning, buddy bucket in leather with door panels to match, i piece windows, shaved fire wall etc. just no motivation for this project. what do you guys think i should do?

NICE TRUCK !! You will not get near your $ out of it, if you sell it unfinished. Im sure you already know that.

You said you got burned by the body shop. Is the paint not finished? It looks like it just needs cut and buffed from the pics.

Probably wouldn't anyway. It always costs more to restore one than you could get for it at selling time.
The cheapest way to have a truck restored is to buy it that way.....you just give up "personal in-put".

bed is cut and buffed but the front isnt cleared. in my opinion in needs to be re shot.

I feel you. My project truck has been in the paint shop for 16 months and I've had problems at every shop its been to. I plan on selling mine after I finish it, just to be able to say I finished it. I figure I'll lose about the same if I finish it or not, but it should be easier to sell finished. I also have my eye on a new project (69 camaro RS) and have purchased a few toys since I started my current one 6yrs ago. Good luck and remember this is suppose to be fun!!

Sorry about your problem with paint jail. I would recommend that you really take a look at what you have there. Its a fuggin fantastic truck!! we all get to this point sometimes on a restoration. There is noway I would ever let that truck go! My dad used to say think about it for a solid week pros and cons after that week you will know what to do! Isn't that going backwards... Then he will loose more longbeds are a dime a dozen. Here where I live you get long beds really cheap... I say keep it .it's nice

My take ... Just get it running so you can drive it around the neighborhood, sit on a milk crate if you have to. Then make a decision.

just asking for being curious but what type of numbers would u be looking at ?
and loved the before! do you have anymore pics of the before? and wheel specs on the tt2?
i say keep it cause ull love it once u finish it.
i have a 69 swb that i want to look just like that with the tt2 on it.

It's your decision and if you decide to sell it you will be hooking someone up with a project that won't take much more time and money to fix it. I would like to know how much you would want for it too...I looks like there has been a lot of time and work invested.

my build is over 7 years now and i have reached your current status several times within this build, when i do i stop working on it put it aside and build something for 4 to 8 K that i can drive for a month or two and turn around and sell, you might laugh but it works, i have built a 90 model vw cabriolet, 87 k5 blazer,66 vw fiberglass dune buggy.....

After 25 yrs buildin/playin, I have hit a really burnt spot....The last 6-7 years has been keepin 2 kids in cars the wife likes driving new chit(ouch). I will have to say that the sweetest ride , was the one that I was chasin a new Vette.....around the ramp, canned the throttle, when I pulled 2nd ,I had to switch lanes(didnt want to kill the vette) The guy that had that much money to spend on that Vette, turned the next cloverleef& F ing STOPPED! He watched my old chevy run....all 6 gears behind that lill sb! There is some **** that you just cant buy(you have to build it)! It looks to me that you put your heart into that project.....hang on & have fun crazyAl
