Exhaust ?

Hey all,

I am considering buying a used exhaust off of somebody. The problem is that it only runs to the cab. If it's already welded together, can it be it be cut and then re-welded to extend it all the way out to the back of the bed?

Re: Exhaust ?

Yeah, my current set up runs to the cab but the problem is that 1) it's rusting out and 2) I get fumes coming into the cab. So I don't want to replace my current setup with something similar and have the same problem with fumes.

So, if there are any exhaust guys out there, I'd appreciate some feedback. Could this system be cut with the purpose of lengthening it by about 8 ft?

Re: Exhaust ?

You gotta be real cash poor to buy a used exhaust system. You can get new pipes and mufflers with hangers for $180 from LMC.

More later

Re: Exhaust ?

not cheap... inexpensive.

I too have poverty pipes... I hope your friend is givin you a REAL good deal.
As far as keeping the smog out of the cab... just extend the pipes a foot or two...since you are working on aMc Budget. Maybe some wall mart turn downs too.

Re: Exhaust ?

Hahahaha, you guys are tough. I could get a fairly new exhaust for half the price of the LMC system but now I'm thinking it's probably not worth it if it's gonna wind up being half-assed.
