Lowering advice (rear) again!

Hello all,
I now have the front of my '70 dumped and am looking to lower the rear. I have read a bunch of the threads on here and still have a few questions.
.
(1) Does a 4" dropped spring require shorter shocks?
(2) What about a 2" dropped spring and 2" blocks?
I saw the tech article at Brothers about flipping and swapping the shock brackets. Is this viable?
(3) Does either or both require a track arm modification?
I'm looking at what is most cost effective. Need about a 4" drop - total.

1, Wondering this myself, I'm doing a 5" spring drop.

3, Yes, I'm going with the Super track bar for my 5"

Some have used Jeep wrangler springs for about 4" drop. hope this helps.

When you lower your rear end, you will definately need shorter shocks. ECE sells KYB, but there are others. When you lower the rear end, the stock-length track bar will cause the axle to shift to one side instead of staying centered. I have the adjustable one that ECE sells. Others have shortened the stock track bar, aka Panhard rod, and done what the adjustment does.
The rear shocks will function better if you also have the upper mount relocators, because they will help restore the correct shock angle.

Going to shorter shocks will give you the wrong shock angle. Better to relocate the shock mounts to the bottom of the trailing arms with the ECE brackets.

I have the shorter KYB shocks, as furnished by ECE. I also bought/installed the upper shock mount relocator kit and the adjustable panhard rod. The relocators reposition the upper end of the shock to correct that angle.
