Re: 50th Gold Anniversary color code ?

Hey Steve, It's actually 551 for the gold (1968) and 526 for ivory. For PPG the 551 gold is part#23048 and for the 526 ivory it's part# 8290 I know the factbook list 551 as the two tone code, but it seems 551 is the code for gold ann. poly in 1968. I've checked this from 2 sources and I'm waiting on a email back from a third source. Call me later and I'll tell you everything I find out.

Re: 50th Gold Anniversary color code ?

Steve, The interior paint code is 627 And it's the same part# (23048) as the exterior code 551. No flating agent either. So if you ask for 551 gold or 627 gold (1968) you will get a ppg 23048 can of paint. It's still available in lacquer(Duracryl) or enamel (Delstar) as a mix using the correct toners for 68. The enamel is around 270 a gallon and the lacquer is around 380 a gallon.

EDIT: I just got this email back from PPG

Re: 50th Gold Anniversary color code ?

I'll confirm that I looked it up and found it to be code 551, which is Ditzler/PPG 23048

I wonder if enamel and lacquer are still available in 2020?
