Putter Progress

Seems like this is taking forever, but here is the latest progress on the old blue cab.
It is in Orange sealer right now. Might get around to painting the thing in the next 10-15 years.

Re: Putter Progress

Also got the seats mounted.
NOTE the adjustable height seatbelts!!!

Also got the glass installed, then had to remove it and re-install it because the installer didn't bother CENTERING it in the opening....causing the rubber to buckle.

I never thought of that. I plan on saving a few backs and just using the front-end loader of the tractor. Might need someone to guide it onto the mounts, though!!!

Re: Putter Progress

Looks good Putter.
* What sealer are you using and does it come in colors or did you mix it?
* What are you asking for the wiper delay setup? Are those GM relays?

Smile Re: Putter Progress

I recognize those seats - they are middle (suburban) or rear (tahoe) seats out of a 04 - 99 suburban or tahoe.

How do they fit? Are they comfortable as the fronts?

They look awesome!

The adjustable belts look fine too!

Where are they from?

Details man!, .....we need details

Re: Putter Progress

They are not 3rd row seat since 3rd row seats are nice but not as nice as Putter's. Guessing 2nd (middle) row seats.

Re: Putter Progress

Okay....
Seat questions:
These are from a '99 Suburban.
Have them in local junkyard. Tan, Grey, etc... Leather, cloth, etc... (less than $200 a set)

Seatbelt stuff:
Belts are from a '97 extended cab Chevy 1500....NO THIRD DOOR.
Adjusters are from same truck...but to have them surface-mounted, it had to be a WORK TRUCK (W/T). No fancy interior trim.

Sealer:
I got it at a local auto paint/body supply store. It is a neutral color that can be tinted any color. I am going to go F-350 Orange, so I wanted some orange sealer. I don't have the brand-name handy.
I asked for tinted epoxy primer, but he could only do the regular colors like red-oxide, grey, tan, and grey-green. To get orange, I had to go with sealer.

Wiper kits:
Those are not GM relays. Just normal Bosch-type.
That kit right there would run you an even $100. Plus $5 for shipping, but will also include color instructions, power tap connector, zip ties, etc...and naturally some tech support to make it a complete kit.

Are those heated/power seats? Those are the actual driver/passenger seats, right?

Re: Putter Progress

Shifty,
Nope...these are from the second row. No power....no forward/backward motion at all actually. They will fold down and flat....which is great for hauling TVs, monitors, etc....

I have it slammed against the rear wall anyhow, so I didn't need any adjustment.

Chickenwing....did you notice the mounting holes in those relays??? Good for mounting to the firewall or zip-tying them to the wiring harnesses!!!!!

These pics don't even come close to showing how good it looks in person. AND, he failed to point out that he's installed an A/C dash and a late model temp/ compass mirror. This is gonna be one fine ride.

Really man, that is an awesome job. I can't wait to see it finished. Posts like this one give me motivation to get my own rig finished.

I am interested in your wiper switch setup though. Did you make it?

Are you only selling them or would you share the schematic?
