Need help tubbing my Toy

Ok My lastest kick is i want to tub my 86 so where do i start?can i keep leaf springs or do i have to go 4link mostly i just want huge meats under truck for looks not for dragging or anything.help i dont even know where to begin.how much will this cost me?im planning on using a 12bolt out from under a 77 c10 or would it be easier using something else or maybe someone already has on e narrowed for sale.Or could some one tell me how wide a tire i can get under it without cutting rear.and what backspace i would need.

A truck in my area has huge tires on the back. All he did, from the looks of it, was to relocate his springs inside the frame rails. No tubs or narrowed rear end.

I don't know the guy, and don't know anything else about it.

If I remember correctly you can jam almost 16 inches of tire under our trucks...I just minitubbed mine and I could go 16. You just have to get a tall tire when you go that wide.

As far as minitubbing it would look the best if you just did it with the stock fender wells and widened them. Here is mine, they also sectioned the bed off when they cut the tubs out so that it keeps the ribs in the bottom of the bed even.
