On one of my vehicles I have a side post battery that keeps corroding the battery terminal from inside the battery! The dealer replaced the battery and the cable less than 2 years ago and it has happened again. When I went to take off the positive cable, the terminal that is mounted on the battery just broke away and was all coroded inside? What could be causing this to happen repeatedly?

Interesting. That is the exact reason GM went to the side post...to stop the corrosion.
Is there a chance your battery is getting wet?
Have you tried any of the terminal cleaner and then terminal protector? (both availabel at napa)
Other than the water/dirt idea...I'm drawing a blank.

Andy, this is AZ, it doesnt get wet much

The cable about an inch from the connection is all corroded.

More than likely it was the battery to begin with. They form small leaks near the terminal. All it takes is a small amount of acid combined with o2 and metal to make a huge mess. Broken terminals (battery side) happens alot and can be a PITA to get the remainder of the terminal off the cable.
You can buy neutralizer pads to counter the effects of the acid but if there is a leak at the terminal, those wont even help.
