Big Block in a 1950 Truck?

Hi, I need some input on installing a big block in my 1950 Chevy truck.
I have already boxed the frame and installed an x member for strength, the back half of the frame has been redone for a pro street set up. Mustang II front end installed, *****in firewall and floorpans also. I am going to install a 496 stroker with a Edelbrock duel carb set up. What problems am I facing as far as dist. clearance at the firewall, header clearance with the mustang II front end, frame, motor mount location. I will be installing an electric cooling fan to help with the cooling so that gains me a little room to work with.
Any help, advise and pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Renegade

your firewall may be an issue a small block seems to drop in fine on the stock fwall but the big boy may need more room...

Re: Big Block in a 1950 Truck?

I am building about the same truck as you are and I had to clearance the distributor area in the firewall. I probably could have made it work but I wanted some more room up front. With a small cap dist I would have had about 1/2 of clearance but my dad was thinking he wants to run an HEI so I clearanced it for that. Take a look at my build thread I have several pictures. If you need anymore let me know and I will look to see what I have.
