Glove Box pictures and Ideas

I am looking for different ideas at making a glove box look better. Does anyone have some pictures of aftermarket or modified stock ones that they could post.

Thanks, Ron

Re: Glove Box pictures and Ideas

I've seen some on here that had airbrush designs on them. Try doing a search for "glovebox door". Personally I love the look of chrome on my truck, so I have a chrome glovebox door!

Always loved how your truck looks man. How did you get the glove box door to match the texture of the gauge cluster? Are those speaker mounts in the kickpanels custom made?

Re: Glove Box pictures and Ideas

I did something similiar to 67redneck's except I painted a painted the inset of a '72 Cheyenne Super dash with spray on bedliner and added a '67-68 Dash emblem. The texture has a rough course and matches almost identically to the dash bezel.

Re: Glove Box pictures and Ideas

Here's a few more options the first is a Cheyenne Super bezel like I used painted to match the dash, and the second is a chromed lid with the textured paint in the inset, which I really like.

A can of cheap truck bed liner from wal-mart and some clear coat.

The speaker kick panels are the same you can get from any vendor. They don't fit all too great, but look good enough. I just painted mine instead of leaving them black.

and...

Thanks

67Chevyredneck, how did you get a chromed bezel around your heater controls and did you paint them white? Looks really good.

They're not heater controls... it's a/c & heat

And yes, it was part of my white face gauge kit I bought off ebay.

I have almost that exact same shifter that came in my '63 when I got it, the only difference is mine doesn't have overdrive. I personally like it, the only thing is if you have work done on your truck by someone else make sure they know to push the button in the center in to shift it into gear. When I had new tires put on the truck a few years ago the guy that pulled it out of the shop didn't know that and when I went to get in the truck the gearshift was pointed towards the steering wheel because the guy didn't know how to shift with that shifter. I made sure to tell them before I even got in the truck and had them fix it so if they messed something up when they did that they would know they were the ones to mess it up and they would have to fix it. Other than that I've loved the shifter.

Re: Glove Box pictures and Ideas

I matched up the glovebox to the instrument panel in my tow truck. The cluster has dark grey metallic where the chrome goes. So,I matched it up:

I`ve chromed the glovebox door and put woodgrain on and painted door and panel body color.

Since the '72 Cheyenne Super glove box bezel already had holes in it, I used 2 sided tape since the mounting studs were in a different location on the 67 emblem. I had to break the studs off of it to mount it with the tape.
