Vintage dealer emblems
My dad used to save these, I dug them out and sorted them. I'll be selling some of the extra ones, there will be pics of those at the end of pics. Most are before 1984. I think some are pretty neat. Sorry for the pics not being the best, when its 0 outside and 12 inches of snow, I had to do something. Randy

Re: Vintage dealer emblems
Those are cool.Did your dad part trucks, too? Is that Zwygart dealership any relation?
It`s amazing how advertising becomes some of the most collectible.I always hated the idea of dealers sticking their name on new vehicle paint...drilling holes a lot of the time.I always thought they were kinda neat yet hated them.1st thing I did when I picked up my`92 was peel the dealer badge off.It wasn`t on there 2 days, since I picked it up as soon as it was prepped.I always liked how California used the license plate trim.I always thought it was because there were more cool cars and car nuts there that felt the way I did. Now,I wish I had a collection.

Very Cool.
A lot of those names sure are familiar. Are you going to be selling them by the piece or as lots?

Re: Vintage dealer emblems
Tim, my dad owned a ford dealership in 72-73 then sold it and bought a chevy dealership in late 73. Owned it till 84, then went out of business, health reasons. He used to buy out dealerships going out of business, he bought the parts inventory, I can't tell you how many big 2 ton trucks loads of NOS parts I hauled back then. He resold them at auctions, made quite a bit of money off them but if I would of kept all the parts till now, I'd probably be a millionare, instead of broke. My first truck was a 69 GMC, back in 79, had quite a few others till we went out of business, it was nice being able to go from one truck to another, spoiled is what it was called. Anyway he got me started selling parts and wanted me to get into the salvage business, parting trucks and storing the parts in buildings. So I kind of did somewhat of what he wanted me to do. He never got to see me start doing this since he died in 88. I really started doing this in 2000. Sorry rambling, I know what you mean about dealers drilling holes, I always thought that was crazy. I'm going to make a board and put all the ones I want to keep on it and put it in my garage.

Re: Vintage dealer emblems
Joesjunk and lugnut64052, I need to do some checking on price, someone sold some on the board awhile back and I can't remember what he got out of them. Seems like it was $5 a piece plus shipping, but not for sure. I'll do some checking
Eric, lol, I know I got to rambling, I think cabin fever is getting to me. You guys up there are crazy, cold weather sucks Thanks Randy

Trevor, never found any that say Osage City on them, I do have some with some names not sure what town they are from. You remember any names of dealerships?

Re: Vintage dealer emblems
"Shields" was one of them. Not sure if they were around back when the truck was new or not, but I do know they were around in the mid 70's. They might have just had the sticker type though as I seen a truck from there with one on it that was a decal about 2 months ago. Trevor

Re: Vintage dealer emblems
Nice collection, you should ask if anyone wants to send you any for free. I would gladly send you one from Texas because I bought some stuff from you before and you do a great job helping people out. LMK if you want one from a Texas dealer.
