72 to 68 body make over

I'm working on a 72 C/10 stepside. I have several body parts for a 68 and I prefer the look of the 68. Will the doors from the 68 work on my 72? Will I have to change the front support to make the 68 grill work?

yes and yes.
You will also need a 67-68 hood, 68 fenders, 67-68 hood latch and grille support.

The doors will work, but I think your 72 door panels will not unless you replace the window regulators and door latch (the part that the inner handle attaches to) with the 72 versions that have longer shafts. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, just what I thought, but received a lot of conflicting info from local experts.

sounds like a pretty big challenge. how about using a '67/'68 grill and modify it to fit your grill opening? might have to use 2 to get everything right. if you are a good fabricator should work.

I'm not a metal fab. so this is probably not an option. Also, I like the lower hood and fender lines on the 68. Do you agree that the 68 doors will fit ok on the 72 body? I have been told there is an issue with the fit. Will changing the fenders to 68 improve the fit? My 68 doors are perfect, no dents no rust.
