I need ideas on pricing some stuff for swap meet!!!

I have about 15 used Holley carb's, can anyone give me an idea of price.
Also this intake off a 283. I've heard they are worth quite a bit.
Thanks for the help, Randy

The Holley carbs depend on the condition & model. Anywhere from $15 to 200+ for a well used carb.

As fas as the intake, not much at all until it is at least cleaned up. It looks rusted to Heck & back. Current condition, I'd give at most $15.

Thanks, I figured there would be a price difference in carbs, the books says the intake is off either a 57-61 pass, or a 58-61 vette.

swap meet prices

Randy, I've been swap meeting for about 6 years now. Pretty tricky. The last few years, I've moved my stuff to the point that I take the large stuff to swap meets and the small stuff I sell on either ebay, here, or elsewhere on the net. For example, that intake would probably pull some big bucks on ebay. There is a huge market on there. Although I have noticed a general trend the last few years where stuff sells alot better on ebay in the winter (people spend alot more time at their computers). Body parts are big and bulky and I tend to sell them better at swap meets (no shipping). Carbs are kinda funny. I can sell 650 on ups anywhere if you find the right person (there's an a$$ for every seat). I can't seem to give 600's away. I also sell alot of tire/wheel combo's at the meets. After I get loaded up with the big stuff, I usually throw several boxes of small odds and ends that I try to make money back to pay for my spot. All in all, I go to about 5/yr. I love it. It gets me away for the whole weekend. Sometimes my wife and two young kids go too. We camp out in the back of the burb. It's kinda like a camping trip surrounded by car parts! Good luck. It lloks like you have lots of parts which means lots of money! As another note, I tend to get beat up pretty bad at swap meets. For example: if I'm asking $100 for a core support, I'll get asked all day long "take $50". I always tell people I try to price my stuff fair from the start. Sometimes, if I really want to move something, I'll either split the difference or knock $10 off to make them feel like they got one over on me. It's the wonderful world of bartering. I actually like it, but it can wear on you sometimes. Have fun!

Thanks Brian, I've been to this one meet the last 3 years, I know what you mean about the people wanting to talk you down on your price. I was told that intake was worth $150 or so, I got 2 of them. I'll take them to swap meet and if they dont sell, I'll ebay them. I try to deal alot like you say, its easier if I don't have to ship stuff. I got some tachs, hooks and buckets to try catch the buyers eye!!! I usually sell more on Friday night and Sat by 8:00 am it seems. I had a pregnant wife last year in a tent, this year I'm staying by myself. Thanks Randy

being realalistic that manifold if you had it at a swapmeet i'd think you'd be lucky if you had 1person look at it in 8hours and he'd probably go as high as $3, used holley's average price i've found to be about $50

Have that intake cleaned right before you go, and sell it "restored" for a 283 for $70-80 (probably costs $30 to clean it)...

Or just sell it for $50, but don't go lower than $40 since it's a 4bbl.

Other than that I might be low. I haven't seen one of those in a while. There's a million 2bbl 283 intakes. I just sold one a few months ago for $30.

Thanks Guys for the info!!
That intake as I was told by a guy is a little rare compared to most because of the 4 smaller size holes and its off a older motor, I'm not for sure thats just what he said.
Justin, I wouldn't know where I got the hooks.
Thanks Randy
