AGR power steering box
I just installed a new close ratio power steering box in my 70
Longhorn. I recommend it to anyone as a super replacement. It is actually a variable ratio unit, 13:1 to 16:1, whereas the stocker is 20:1, and usually worn. It really makes the truck handle well. Until you have one, you dont think you need one, but once you have one, you wonder why you didnt go with it sooner.

How much was it? Is it a direct replacement or did you have to get new hoses, etc.

It was direct replacement, no hoses or any mods needed. My longhorn has original power steering hoses, the flare end type. It took me about an hour to change out. It was a little heavy for me to align and hold in place while getting the first bolt started, but went right in fairly easily.
It cost me three hundred fifty from summit. My longhorn, was always a wanderer, and now it drives like a new truck does. Just handles with security, and agility. AGR recommends a new pump, from them of course, but I dont think its necessary unless you went with a really close ratio like 12 to one or got the off road version. This variable version is very similar to whats on new trucks. Its just an awesome product to make a truck that much more pleasurable to drive.
