Arrow 20 year-old rebuild, rebuilt a day before i was born.

My uncil built this motor and finished a day before i was born, and this is how its help up after 3 generations of my family's men driving it...

Here's some progress pictures of my cam swap, (so far) besides the motor running extremely lean, its in amazing shape, you can still see the honing marks on the cylinder-walls!!!

Still makes 190 on the compression meter.

The carbon build up is quite awful, never using ARCO gas again....ever.

Cam bearings are shot from an awful pitting (no pics yet)
The main bearings are, well, id say another 10k miles, but while im here, why not right?? (Clevland 77's) (No pics yet)

Oil pick up screen did its job and picked up old pan gasket.
One oil return hole was clogged with a leaf, so im sure removing it will just add lube... was makn 60psi strong still!

And thats it so far, will update as i go along if any one cares haha

Looks like it was a nice build . Are the heads 041 or 186 castings? Look like the 64cc chambers which would have made that about a 9.75:1 compression ratio with the flattops . It would probably respond to a nice cam pretty well with the heads and compression .

thats a good question, my uncil bought them in the 80's so i dont know much about them beside they are 65' corvette 327 heads.

With the foraged pistons and nice rings it was about 9.5:1 but could definitely be 9.75:1. your guess is as good as mine.

Thanks for the nice words.
