Adding 4G60CA AUX suspension to C20

-
Hi all,

Long story short, I have a 72 C20 that I converted to a dually. I retrofitted the 1989 C3500 big brakes and dually differential to the C20. The C20 currently has a weak 5 leaf spring system with no helper springs. I have a steel flat bed and air bags to help to carry some weight.

I came across a 72 C30 system that has 8 leaf springs and 5 leaf helpers and I am going to add that to my C20. The 4G60CA is 2-1/2" wide and my leaf springs are 2-1/4". Do I need to install new hangers on my C20 or will the stock hanger accept the slightly wide springs?

The upgrade of the suspension is needed as I will install a dump body on the truck next week. I can't wait to see everything completed and see how the LS/NV4500 will tow :-).

Thanks!!

I would just grind down the sides of the spring eyes until they clear if they don't already. I wouldn't think it would take much. Just grind the same amount off of each side of the eye.

I changed the title and edited out the WTB sentence. You have to be a "Premium" member to post a WTB.
