Wives make you wonder

My wife can up to the shop today while I was working on the 70 and just blurted out " You got all the pieces back on. It looks like a truck again."

Now she has been up there numerous times over the lst three days while I have been working on it, and today she notices that all these pieces have been together for over a week.

The lady is wonderful, but sometimes things just go by her in the automotive realm.

It does feel good though to have it looking like a truck again.

Re: Wives make you wonder

my gf told me that i've come a long ways since i picked up HomeBrew later this spring.

now, it went from a driving operating truck(sorta), to sitting in the garage with out a front clip or box, along with my bed room full of body work materials (paint, primer, seam sealer, paint thinner, bondo, metal-to-metal...etc) with a set of cherry bomb glasspacks sitting next to my bed.

i dunno if she was just saying it, or if she meant it, but i liked hearing it regardless.

My apartment has been full of truck parts many times. I've had so many parts in my living room it's not even funny. I had an entire front clip minus the hood in there at one time

My fiance just lets it go. Things will change when "we" have a house though

BUT the house MUST come with a garage!

It just makes me feel good when she says "that's nice" whether she means it or not?

Re: Wives make you wonder

My wife's not a big truck fan, in fact she pretty much hates my truck obsession. In some ways that's a good thing cause i'd probably re-fi the house to buy more parts if it weren't for her. So needless to say, sometimes I get creative with my acquisitions. In fact, I'd probably make Enron proud.

I did a bunch of work back in April; front disk and 5 lug conversion (with new wheels and tires), 2/4 drop, new shocks, relocator kit and panhard bar. Well my wife knew about the brakes and the new wheels/tires but didn't know about anything else. After everything's done, I bring it around for her to see and the first thing she notices is how much lower it is since she can actually get in the thing without having to climb up in it. And of course she asks, "Why's it so much lower now?" In a mild panic, I gotta come up with a quick answer so I tell her.......

"It's the new tires. The old tires were truck tires and were a lot taller. These new ones are car tires so they're shorter." And damn if she didn't believe it.

Re: Wives make you wonder

For as long as we’ve been married (23 years) I've been trying to get my wife interested in my hobby. This weekend she finally put it in prospective. She said “It would be like ME getting YOU interested in Sewing" Point made and well taken.

Wide, stuff a sock in it.Your wife may be your best friend if you run out of funds with only an interior to be able to cruise.

Re: Wives make you wonder

Wives- we all love to grouse about them but where would we be without them? If it wasn't for my wife picking me up out of the gutter ten years ago, dusting me off and getting my life back in order I'd be dead or in prison. As an added bonus, she let's me have old trucks, boats and bikes. Gotta love it!

Re: Wives make you wonder

My wife REALLY takes an intrest in my old truck, except when I mention I need new tie-rods and a new steering box, then its "That will have to wait till you get another job!" Ouch....... Although I know what she means.

Anyways she always says she knows just enough about cars to be dangerous..........to parts stores and garages She also loves driving the truck as well (Just need to figure out WHO loves driving it more). And the best part is she aint afraid to get her hands dirty working on it with me.........whata woman

Yeah, mine is great keeper, even with comments like started this thread. She likes old cars and trucks, just has no clue or interest to get dirty working on them. But she loves to ride and look. She just misses details at times like it's been assembled awhile
