71 chevy Square/Round key

my 'new' chevy c10 only came with a square key. it doesn't seem to work in the door locks. did the '71 chevy c10 come with a round key for the door lock or should the ignition key work for door locks also?

Re: 71 chevy Square/Round key

My '67 has a round key for the doors, square for the ignition. My '73 had the same thing.

Re: 71 chevy Square/Round key

My 72 has one square key for locks and ignition. I'm not sure, but wasn't that the way trucks were back then. I know my 70 Cutlass had square for ignition and round for the trunk and glovebox. I think I remember the doors were also square key. Later in the 70s round became doors and square was ignition only. I bet on your truck someone has replaced the ignition switch and you should have 2 square keys.

Re: 71 chevy Square/Round key

you could remove the door lock and have it keyed.
