Test Drive after 24yr nap

Here's a couple videos of my Dad's 72 C10 that I recently pulled in out of the pasture after sitting for a quarter century. I put a kit in the carb, replaced distributor cap, adjusted valves(one rocker had been running off the valve) only had to change one tire. Oil change and filter. Pulled thermostat. Original coolant was in it!

Unbelievable...the bowl in the carb looked brand new. I asked Dad what he wanted to invest in it and he green lighted re-doing it. I was surprised....we're pretty tight around here. We generally only spend money on tractor tires, diesel and mac-n-cheese.

Looks like you installed a new Gas Tank. That design may catch on.

Looks good to 25 years OUT BACK.

Everyone should get a project with dad, I'm lucky enough that he still goes to the shop with me everyday at 83 but I have to have him slow down and remind him he isn't 70 any more. Jim

father/ son projects are the best! Nothing like a classic project to bring you closer.

Awesome! Hard to believe how good these trucks were built. I bought my 70 custom/20 and it had sat for 25 years. Checked all the fluids, new battery, and it fired up. My girlfriend is from warroad. Nice little town.

Re: Test Drive after 24yr nap

Great comments everyone. I don't take for granted I can hang out w/ dad. I moved back home out of the big city party because of this. I used to make big bucks...now I drive a beater and sit on a tractor...and love it! Hey 68350, ever been up here?

Oh yeah, been there 4-5 times. Go there every few months anymore. If you're looking for any parts, send me a private message. Might be able to help.

Watching the video now......wow brother, just going by your voice, I was thinking you were a teenager!

This is great. Dad and I put the seat back into mine about an hour ago.
