Pie cutting the upper control arm?

After I bagged my 63 the upper ball joints are binding when aired out. So I've been researching this and see that people pie cut the upper control arm with lots of success. What I need is a detailed method on how to do it and hopefully with pictures. Did any of you ever do this? How big of a pie do you cut?

Re: Pie cutting the upper control arm?

I don't have any pics of mine during the process. What you can do is make the cut and air the truck out (put a small piece of wood under the tired to make sure you get enough space) then air out the truck. It will close up the space and then you can weld it up. I want to say mine was done around 1/4'' but I don't remember.
