Who still makes a "Grill/Brush Guard" for the '70' Chevy without having to buy a run of 50 just to get one for the truck? Sorry you have to be a subscriber to advertise a want to buy ad in your post
(checked a few years ago when I was still in SoCA and the only mfg'er that still had templates wouldn't do a run less than 50.) *Sigh*

Hey wibilly, good lookin' Chevy,(ah, is that a 72 bumper with a 70 grill?... Double running/parking light placement, and did you fill the front hood bowtie holes?).

That is something like what I'm looking for. I was hoping for the type that bolt mainly from under the front frame and one additional through-bolt at the bumper area. These are generally made of heavier side/vertical steel, around 1/4" to 1/2" thick uprights with three to more horizontal tubes/bars welded between. This way, the side/light guards can be an 'option' and bolt on or off as wished.

Yeah, I'm looking for better mileage and here I am trying to weigh the darned thing down even more with a big block o'steel on the front... it's just that I've had these off-road lights screeming to be put on for years and I don't like the idea of drilling more holes in the bumper. Aside from not wanting the lights to be the first thing taken out by someone that can't park their vehicle straight, to save their life.

Oh, and... Chrome is expensive and I can repaint stuff myself, all day!

cm thistruck is made from many, it is acualy a 71 with a 72 gmc cab 72 chevy hood ,bumper and grill gaurd came from a 72. since this bumper was already drilled for the gaurd i used it rather than drilling another..i use the parking light holes for steps to get my fat a$$ up under the hood. i know it looks goofy but it's all about function to me. the truck in my avitar has a homade bumper brush gaurd built alittle stouter using the out sides of this same type brush gaurd [ same gm part #] i have one other on a 70 gmc one ton it's a little heaver duty in the center upright area but very similar on the sides ,not removable. oh just rembered one more i'll have to look at on a 68 gmc if i remember right it was modified a bit because of a plow frame i probably can't even get to that one till spring unless i go on snowmobile never seen afactory one with removeable sides though

I wasn't being critical, please don't think so. I prefer fuction and even "utilitary" myself. hence the large off road lights to mount on the front.("The better to see you with my little Dear").

As far as the Grill Guards being "Factory", I've never heard of it either. The best any Chevy could do was get a "Package Deal" that was specific to 'dealers choice' only. That means strictly after-market stuff. Which is plentry fine by me... if I can even find one. I've even looked in well over two dozen junk yards throughout the country, no luck yet. Maybe here... maybe...
