U-Joints Shot?
I spent some quality time under my '69 GMC last night trying to tighten-up an exhaust leak - no success with that yet.
BUT, I noticed that the hanger bearing rubber is all shot to heck so I'll need to replace that bearing. It's one of those "while I'm at it" situations...I figure I might as well replace the u-joints too, but I don't want to waste the cash. What is a good way to tell if they're shot?

'76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod. '68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect. '59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said. |

First check for any play at the yokes.Take the driveshaft out and pop the bearing cups off the ujoint .Don't lose any of the little rollers!Check for any discoloration.Any pitting or bluing,time for new ones.
