Post all long bed STEP SIDEs here....thanks

I am trying to get a 'feel' for these odd trucks. I just recently got one w/ 292 and 4spd. Dont know whether to change the bed to a fleet or not. Thanks

Man those longbeds sure are short!

Three of them aren`t even Stepsides. They`re Sportsides. That`s what GM started calling them in`88 when they stopped production of the last Stepsides. The last longbeds where a few years earlier.

Re: Post all long bed STEP SIDEs here....thanks

I own one of these things and it is the only one I had seen before registering here. So, I gotta ask, how many of these things were made? Does anyone have production numbers by year? I am kinda curious how many LWB step sides were made in '69.

Here is mine. 1967 C10.(Blue) I have not done anything to it yet. I plan to start working on it soon. I going to keep the long stepside bed on mine.
I also found a few from the internet.

Re: Post all long bed STEP SIDEs here....thanks

I have one, but the long step bed was totally trashed, so it is dressed up like a long fleetside right now.

I can't complain aobut it though, since I swapped 2 cases of beer for the decent fleetside bed.

Re: Post all long bed STEP SIDEs here....thanks

Well, my friend, here's me & mine. I hope the pics come thru.
It ain't nothing but a daily driver & a workhorse.
It was origianlly built for the Forest Service (so says the build sheet).
When my son bought it, it was a 292/4 spd. After he beat the valve seats into the head (not really his fault, more like an leaded engine in a unleaded world) we rebuilt a 350, now 357, that I just happened to have in the garage.
Later he converted the 350/4 speed to 350/350. I bought it when he moved outta state.
They don't seem to be real rare around here. Hell, except for the wheels, there's a twin to this thing roaming around my part of the county.
I like mine, just because it's a "little" bit different, but certainly exotic.

Oh, yeah. To the best of my knowledge, ain't none of these things w/ factory type brakes stops worth a damn.

I guess I've rambled long enough.
