Hey Y'All,

I just joined and was reading the posts, I have recently finished my truck. It is a 1965 Short Wide, I really don't know why but I love this "pain in the tush" thing. I have owned it since I ETS'd from the Army in 1989. I have replaced every bolt, washer, nut and bushing on it. It runs a 1966 327/400 combo, has pwr steering/brakes/windows and A/C. I have replaced the wood, bed strips etc. It is 1966 CHevy White, solid without the trim. redone int.

The only problem I have is those guages from the factory, I cant seem to get them to be accurate or work at all, does someone have an idea there with out killing the bank? I can get a rebuilt one for $500.00 but that is way over my budget, I could go with aftermarket but like it to at least look original.

Clyde,Welcome from the Bayou State next door. Sounds like a sweet old truck you have there. Are all of your gauges acting up,because the oil pressure gauge should be mechanical if it's the original. One option might be to do as myself and a couple of others here have done.Look for a 64-66 C40-C80 big truck. All the big trucks have gauges instead of idiot lights, and the gauges are the same.Might be a lot easier to find than a pickup with gauges.I know I still see lots of those style big trucks around here. What part of Texas are you from? Lynn

I live around Dallas and I must have the only C60 that didn't have guages then, my 1964 Crew Cab has Idiot light for now. My Oil Pressure switch seams to be the only consistant working guage I have. Thanks for the encouragement.

Clyde, what year C60 do you have?Didn't mean to say they never had big trucks with lights, just never saw one myself. At least nothing larger than a C30 anyway.I'd really like to see some pics of your trucks, especially your crew cab.Was it an original or is it a custom made? Lynn
