235 cu to a 230

Just wondering will a 235 from a 62 bolt up to my 1964 230. three speed, without changing motor mounts etc. Also would the 235 bolt up to a th350 automatic..Thanks in advance

It's not a bolt in. There is a difference lenght of the two blocks, the 235 being shorter. There is also a difference in bell housings, between the 230 and 235.

Like Larry said,it's definatley not a bolt in.The 235 shares very little with the 194,230,250 and 292 engines.The 235 has the mount in the front rather than on the sides,and the bellhousing is totally different.The only automatic I know of to fit the 235 without adapting is the old castiron powerglide.

Our64, What you want is a good running 292, with the passenger side motor mount bracket. and some say the alternator bracket. Then everything interchanges except maybe the flywheel or starter. You can have your flywheel drilled to fit the later crankshafts.
