Banned from Facebook marketplace?

Hello everyone for what seems like almost a year now I have not been able to access Facebook marketplace through my account. I keep getting a message saying that marketplace is not available to me. It's like I have been banned.
I have never listed anything on marketplace only looked at others listings.
I hardly use my Facebook account and have never posted anything against the rules or anything like that.
Not sure why I can't access marketplace.
I tried contacting FB support months ago but never got a response.
Anyone else have this problem?

and fakebook blocked you from posting anything

start a new account and you can repost item(s) there again

Did you even read the what the OP said. He stated clearly that he hasn't posted any items for sale. So how could he have been reported for a post he never made?

your account may have been hacked and someone using your name may have tried selling something that flagged your account, or maybe someone gave you bad reviews as a buyer

My account being hacked could be a possibility but I have never seen any evidence on my page or anything to raise concern.
I would like to reiterate that I have not listed, sold, bought or had any interaction with anyone on marketplace ever. I have only looked at listings.
I could try contacting support again but I really doubt I will get a response.
I will probably have to make a new account.

So today I tried marketplace again on my account, got a message saying I need to verify my age I'm like ok, what do they want me to do put my date of birth in or something? I already did that when I made my account. Ok so I tap the next button or whatever next message pops up saying I need to take a selfie of my face to verify my age... I'm sorry but this a bunch of Bull Cr@p!
I really Do Not feel I should have to have someone or something scan my face just so I can view listings or contact people posting for sale adds.

Maybe, I don't know.
But I'm not going to be messing around with it.
I understand that there are problems with fake users, bots and scammers but if this is how they think they need to protect the site from spam I'm sorry, but they are taking it to far.

What really seems strange to me is the fact that I am just now getting the message saying that I need to verify my age. Couldn't they have told me that half a year ago? Instead of just "marketplace is not available to you"

Have you tried accessing FB by going to the FB web site with another browser and typing in your username and password. Then going to Market Place from there. Maybe your account has been hacked. Just a thought, I have never had that problem.

I know my daughter didn’t have access to Marketplace until her 18th birthday but never had to provide a photo. So that does seem odd.

Could just make a new account.

I went from the app on my phone to the browser on my phone still didn't work I think I will try next on another device.

Yeah I will try that as a last resort but got to first make a new email address to send verification code to since face book will not let you make an account using a email thats already been registered on the site.

I wouldn’t worry too much about not being able to sell on FB MarketPlace. It’s nothing but a waste of time. All you get is your phone blown up with a bunch of idiot people asking you to take 1/2-3/4 what you’re asking, or just asking you dumb questions period. If you do get a couple people that actually sound like they are interested, they don’t show up. And that’s ok, but for gods sake send a quick message saying that you’re not coming.

I quit selling on the MarketPlace. I have my own FB “business” page I take orders from, since that’s pretty munch all I do is restore peoples belts. But even then I get some people that just really waste my time, but 98% of the people I work with is great.
And as far as me buying, pretty much EBay only, or Swap Meets. Even “buying” on the Marketplace can be a pain, so many scammers out there waiting to take your money.

I wouldn’t have made it past the video selfie, I’d be like “nope” not doing that.

Yeah me too I'm so not doing the selfie thing I don't think it should be necessary.
They seem so concerned about my age on marketplace but yet I can use regular Facebook without this confirm your age thing. Regular Facebook which is filled with brain rotting perverted videos and so much other filth, Im allowed to view all that junk but yet when all I want to is look at local for sale old trucks and parts I'm not allowed???

I have been distancing myself from Facebook for some time now and believe I will continue to do so. Aside from keeping in touch with some of my friends I really have no use for it. I personally always come away from the site feeling negative and drained. I mean there are some good people there and some good groups and there is some positivity I'm not saying it's totally bad it's just something about the atmosphere of the site just isn't for me. I have much more enjoyment talking to people on good forums (like this one) or talking to friends in person.
I did enjoy browsing marketplace when I was able to use it. Sadly it seems to be the place with all the deals nowadays. Craigslist in my area is slowly becoming more and more dead. There are still people posting stuff there but it's mostly all out of my price range stuff and less and less of the cheap fixer uppers.

Anyway thanks everyone for your advice I will probably try to make another account sometime but I don't expect anything to be different.

For now I'm stuck with Craigslist, Offer up or eBay.
I recently became a premium member on this forum so I will probably be putting this sites classified section to use.
