Our trucks bringing home the Christmas tree, lets see 'em...

My wife and Ace and I took the shop truck to pick out a Christmas tree this weekend. Snapped a few pics when we got home. Anyone else hauled one in their classic truck yet?
If so, post a pic. And here's hoping everyone has a Merry Christmas!

I think that's 'his" truck. Here's a tree in my '72. No dog these days:

We've been going to a cut your own place the last couple of years. SC's climate doesn't grow Christmas trees very well, so we head into the NC mountains for ours. It's a fun 4 hour round trip.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah, Ace is a poser and yes, it is "his" truck. Glad to see some other classic truck guys who still do the Christmas tree the old school way (real).

Re: Our trucks bringing home the Christmas tree, lets see 'em...

I didn't get a chance to get together with my grand daughter over Thanksgiving, so I showed an old one. It's our little ritual to go cut a tree every year. We have tree farms all over, it's Christmas tree central around here...trees on cars everywhere. We used to just run up to the place pictured...closest up on the state road at the end of mine. Last year I decided she's ready for more adventure mixed in, so we went to Clemsonville Tree Farm. Also very close, it boasts a Guinness Book of Records largest wreath. It's neat because it is on a very old farm that is from the same time, and close to, Francis Scott Key's home "Terra Ruba". Very pretty place with a creek that splits to either side of the house. www.clemsonville.com

I need to come up with another place this year. Maybe up to the mountains.

You know Tim, my Dad used to take me, in his then new '71 GMC SWB pickup, out to the reclaimed Peabody Coal Co. strip mines in south central KY to cut a Christmas tree every year. I have such great memories of those times and that's why I will always have a real Christmas tree in my house for Christmas. Your grand daughter will look back on those times with you with fond memories of her own. It's great that you are keeping the tradition alive.

You are so lucky (fortunate? rich?) to have that to bop around NH in. Nice combo!

We still need a picture of that truck (or was it the econobox?). The side of the road thing was my grand daughter's idea. I wanted to encourage her adventurous spirit and went with it. I know... bad influence

That lone tree is the on the high point of the county, where my road meets Liberty Rd/MD26 (Old Liberty parallels on far side of tree). The farm was on both sides of Old Liberty Rd, house was on other side. They filled across the top this field and it drops off into a valley. It's a long way back (uphill) to drag the tree. I'm glad I have a helper! They are close and by the hiway. Not the best atmosphere, but they keep their trees tip top.

I don't get to see her much, they aren't together, so I made it a point for this to be the "at least one thing" with her for me. I did the same with her dad, his sister, and brother. Always in an old truck. I have great childhood memories, so I try to leave them some.

OP's Shepard looks just like my mom's dog Rosie, who passed a few years ago. She was all business, meaning just toss me the ball and I'll catch everything. Anyway, great topic.

Tony, Ace is the same way. He is always ready to play fetch (or go for a ride in the truck). He loves sticks and will go to the firewood pile and pick out his own if I don't have one for him already.

Some great looking trucks on here. Love your Orange step side 4x4 Steve. Keep 'em coming guys.

Rosie's favorite to launch a rubber ball off the floor. Pressure & saliva, good for a fast ball, 25' or so airborne. She'd catch em all. She may have taught us, and she'd even duplicate. Very smart dog. They had another Shepard, Bruno, all 120 lbs. of him. Anyway, here's the only pic. I have of Rosie. It was her last year. She has one of those balls in her mouth, go figure.

Rick, that picture of your '69 reminds me of the '71 or '72 Hallmark Christmas ornament. Not the exact paint scheme but same colors.

70net440, that is quite a view you have there from your place.

Great looking trucks guys.

Old, rusty and crusty but still gets the job done. I have a fairly new GMC 2500 Z71 and I might get a nod when I go somewhere, but when I go in the 71 everyone what to stop and talk. Here it is bringing home the Christmas tree.
