Flip Kit Bracket Question

Hey all,

I am trying to get the measurements for just the flip kit "bracket" that sits between the leaf springs and the axle housing and into the spring perches off of an '88-'98 2wd GM fullsize truck. I have an '87 GMC that I put a '96 model 2wd rearend into (cut off the stock perches and moved them outboard to fit the '87 spring width) and want to flip it now. Because of this move I am going to have to fab up a flip bracket that melds the 2 together.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Ed

Re: Flip Kit Bracket Question

Just get new perches from Summit (or where you got your other set) and flip the axle to the top of the springs. Line up the perches, tack them in place, then pull it out and weld em tight. That was an easy way for me when I did mine.

Re: Flip Kit Bracket Question

I have seriously thought about doing that, but if I can just bend up my own bracket on the 200 ton press at work I think I will do that. I wished I had just gone that route when I started, but I wasn't sure I wanted to go that low. Live and Learn.

Re: Flip Kit Bracket Question

sweet. Im sure that will make things easier. I havent got the plans for the one I built. gave the flip bracket away when I realized that shackels, hangers, and a flip was too low.. lol. there was no suspension travel even with the cnotch I welded in place. geeze
