Re: Hobrecht push bar

My high school history teacher had one of those on his blazer. I removed it in metal shop to make a pattern and made one for my k20. That was *cough* a few years back

Sweet. I've seen a couple of those now and was wondering if it was a dealer thing . Kinda reminds me of push bars on police car for their pit maneuver. Would love to have a pattern !

Re: Hobrecht push bar

Oh the thing is beefy, and has tabs on it to utilize the factory bumper mount locations. as well as the oval holes in the frame horns. Only other one i can seem to find online is on the gmcpauls website in the gallery on a jimmy. if someone wanted to come measure out a template and re-create it i wouldn't be opposed to it!

If you were willing to draw the outline of the side mounting plates on paper ( full size) and send it to me, I could convert it to a DXF file so that it could be duplicated. I have a CNC plasma table here at home so I'd be making one for myself for sure.

Edit; Actually, if you could take a picture of the side plate perpendicular to the surface, and give me rough dimensions, that should be enough info to duplicate it.

Re: Hobrecht push bar

How is it bolted to the frame ? Did you have to drill an extra hole?

Nope, it utilizes the 2 top center bolts from the factory bumper location and then hooks underneath and utilizes the factory slot in the frame in the middle of the horn

OK, Thanks for that !! Nice that the frame doesn't need to be drilled.

Re: Hobrecht push bar

Hey Lieferson were you able to make a template for that brush guard. Maybe you could cut a few side plates and sell them. I certainly would like to get my hands on some if your interested in doing so. Let me know.

Re: Hobrecht push bar

I am hoping to get out there this weekend and get some templates made up, maybe even a prototype made.

Re: Hobrecht push bar

Yukon Jack was kind enough to send me a cad drawing for one of these push bars. I'm in the works to get a prototype cut in the next few days. Once I'm happy with the fit I'll have a DXF file that I can share, and I will most likely post a build thread on it.

I like the one in the first picture posted by Lieferson. Will you be making a file for that one? If so I would like a copy.

Maybe ! Once I get the bracket to fit nicely around the bumper, the rest is easy. I kinda like the look of the top one too because it's not as high.

I have wondered about the manufacturer of the push bar on the Jimmy - it looks the same as yours. Thanks for the info!!

Re: Hobrecht push bar

Its definitely close! Yours seems to be positioned away from the bumper though, which is what most of the chrome bumper guys would want im assuming. The one i have is bolted tight against the bumper
