To many flatbeds?

I decided to start my 65 k20 rebuild and have came to the conclusion that it is going to have a flatbed on it as well as the 72.It seems i'm addicted to putting flatbeds on everything I build but they seem so much more useful to me and the things I do and haul.Is there a point when you have too many? I'm thinking no,but when can you have to many?

Re: To many flatbeds?

How could you have too many if that is what you like? A number of guys have more than 5 trucks on the board with regular beds. Don't see them thinking they have too many with regular beds!

Re: To many flatbeds?

if my 4x4 had had a legitimate flatbed, it probably would have stayed on there. The one in your Avatar Picture looks really slick, that goes for both of you

Re: To many flatbeds?

Yukon, What's the deal with a C20 vs K20? My 69 says C20 on the fenders and is 4 wheel I always thought C was the 2 wheel and K was the 4 wheel. I see on your web page your stated a C20 and now you call it a K20? I went to order a lower hose from the local parts place and I said C20 4wheel and he said no a k20?

Re: To many flatbeds?

All K series 67-72 pickups have C designations on the fenders - GM must have been being cheap. All 69-72 K5's have K5 emblems regardless of whether they are 2wd or 4wd.

It's proper to call the 4wd's K10 or K20 and some people will really get bent out of shape if you call your 4wd a C10 or C20 - those people generally need a chill pill though :-)

When you order parts, you should use the K10 or K20 identification as some parts are different of course depending on whether it is a 2 or 4wd.

Re: To many flatbeds?

C/10,C/20 were models like Custom/10,Custom/20.The market was still mostly 2wd back then.So a 69/70 K/10,K/20 could say C/10,C/20 if it was the base model.

Re: To many flatbeds?

Thanks for the info on the C vs K Next time I won't argue with the parts guy at the counter that the trucks a "C20" 4X4 LOL I think the flatbeds are more useful if your hauling anything.

Re: To many flatbeds?

westcoastflatbedder: Is there any way you could post a few (lot) more pics of you trucks with flatbeds. I'm doing one very similar to the one in your avatar, but it will be old cat yellow paint to match my vintage cat and haul trailer. Mine was a 3/4 lwb but I cut frame off back to fit a swb flatbed. Anyways I have been a fan of Yukon Jacks truck for a long time and I would like to see more pics from different angles of your truck if possible Thanks

Re: To many flatbeds?

I agree with Yukon, if that's where your interest is go for it. Up here in the Northeast, there seems to be more and more flatbeds running around, and with a set of fences you can haul anything any one else can. Like they say, "have it your way" you're paying the bill!.....

Re: To many flatbeds?

Here is a link to an album on my website showing build pics of the flatbed. Take a few minutes and go to the link in my sig and you'll also find some more pics of it.
