carrier bearing replacement

Has anyone gone from one style of carrier bearing to the other? I have one that has two bolt holes that are in line with the driveshaft.

I need to go to the one where the two holes are about 7" apart on either side of the driveshaft.

do these interchange between the two? both can be used on the same driveshaft?
