Black looks okay, but it also hides all the dirt, oil leaks also. I think thats why orange is used, its alot easy to track oil leaks and things.

Personally I like the look of orange blocks. What I think is even cooler is how "show" vehicles paint the block the same color as the car!

I think having a black block make the chrome shine that much more. And its all in the chrome!

Orange gives it more of a classic/musclecar look...black might make it look a little more modern.

The only reason I do not like black is because you cannot detect leaks easily...and it looks somewhat boring IMO.

I say orange.

I like the traditional chevy orange. Though the correct color for my 78 would be gm blue.

i'd go with blue, since your truck is blue. black is too boring, and orange would look out of place. BTW, avoid over chroming.

i say go with orange.when i swap the engine into my 78 im debating on painting it orange-its black right now and it seems to bland to me.the orange to me makes it stand out a little more than black.just my thoughts

dosen't matter if you have oil leaks or not, if its driven on the street regularly then if you paint it orange its going to look gross and dirty after less than a year. thats why i painted mine black.

Low 84 is right. I still love the chevy red but it does look bad after a while. I don't care how good you are and how clean you get all the mating surfaces. with all this tiwanese tinware you will have some seepage. You will just look at it on a red block where as you won't ever know it's there with a black one.
