Wichita Swap Meet

How many of y'all will be there? This Friday & Sat. http://www.wichitaas.com/events/swapmeet.htm
I'll be there Friday afternoon. E-mail me fradt@cox.net if you want to try to get together. Me and Zurbo live about 10 minutes from the coliseum.

I'm probably going to try to go out around lunch on Friday - what time do you think you will be there?

My dad and I will be headin down there on Friday. Don't know for sure what time we will be gettin down there..... it is like 2-3 hr drive. Looking for a good passenger rectangular chrome 1971-72 outside mirror.... not looking to spending the $35 for a new one. Maybe some new vinyl blue seat covers too. If anyone of the vendors have some.

The last time I went to this show was on a Saturday, the second day, and there appeared to be a good turnout to me.

I've found that both days are good. The first year I went I got there at 8am Friday, there were a lot of people not set up yet. Temp was in the teens with a north wind and snow. And the overhead doors were open. Now I don't go until after lunch. I have also gone on Saturday, it is usually busy all day, and you can usually get the price down some, too. Two guys set up there that I know, one sells chevelle parts, the other is Jeff at Bowtie bits. Jeff's against the west wall in the north end of the main building. Another guy, that I won't claim, sells mopar parts. Doesn't everyone have a friend with serious character flaws?

I will be there both days, selling some no longer needed parts. Not much for these trucks tho, mostly race car parts. I do have a power steering set up off the 68 if anyone is interested. Will be in booth on the north wall, west of the doors. I think it is the coldest spot there.

I will be there both days from start to finish, have a booth in second building at the south end. (Being closer to the equator it should be warmer there, right?) Will have mostly 68-71/72 parts left from the '71 4x4 I just re-built. Mostly driver quality, no show stuff.

Stroker, haven't seen you at work lately. Did you change your hours?

Yukon, hope to see ya there. How is that BBC coming in the flatbed? Is barn9 and Blazerboy going to be there?

From what the weather guesser is saying, anyone going had best be wearing some good insulated coveralls or bibs. Takes a long time for those buildings to warm up after the doors are closed from the loading process.

Hope to see some board members!

Ironhorse, I'll look you up. With snow thursday, a high friday of 30 it will be cold friday morning. I wish they had another building, they're having to turn away quite a few vendors. With your handle and where your from, I would guess we have another common interest.

I will try to be at Ironhorses booth at around 1 pm on Friday if anyone else wants to try to meet at that time. Sound good Fred T?

Ironhorse, this week I have been replacing the seals and gaskets on the Rockwell transfer case and doing a couple other things. Hope to do the rear main seal in the next few days then hopefully do a test fit.

After that my holdup will be my rust repair. Know anyone who does welding that likes to work for free, okay, work at a reasonable rate. I have a guy from my kids' school to call but am keeping my eyes open incase he can't do the repairs.

I'll know more this evening, but should be able to make that. Just heard it's' supposed to get down to 7 tonite, so Ironhorse better fire up his boiler if he wants to stay warm in the morning.

Hey Yukon, Fred T, and Beyond, I will be in the second building at booth W11-3 but not against the wall as I thought. I am in the center of the building towards the south end about midway North and South. When I received my stall/booth map location I did not see that the building was only half shown, other half got cut off. Have 3 tables running north and south, 2 on west side and a single on the east side of the booth. Look for two behind the cab fuel tanks, a slider and painted bumper (71-72) in the booth and there your are.

Yukon, will talk to you Friday about the welding bit. Don't really know of anyone who works free or for beer, heh, heh. Will have some pics of the truck during the re-build.

Will be looking forward to meeting some more members on the 'morrow. Took a quick walk thru this evening and there is a lot of stuff, more was coming in as I was leaving.

Make sure you have the long handles on, it will take forever for that building to warm up when they finally close the doors.

See you guys there,

Well, I guess it sounds like no one likes the fresh air outside where snot and piss will be freezing!!! Thats where I'll be, lol.
I'll be south of the car barn at the east end by the gate on the north side. I've taken my flatbed and car trailer full of parts, suburban and bed trailer full, and another load in the morning around 6:30am.
Will be glad when friday is over and saturday warmer hopefully!!
Stop by and see me and more importantly buy everything I got so I wont have to make 2 trips getting it all home!! I've taken alittle bit of everything( no big stuff like rearends, trans, motors) and everything will be priced to sell!!
see you all there
Iron horse.. I have that glove box door with that custom chevrolet emblem if you still want it. Greg

Thanks to Ironhorse I now own a rear slider window! Thanks!

Also picked up some patch panels and an engine wiring harness. Pretty impressive crown for a Friday early afternoon. Many, many vendors.
