Glock's Camaro rear disc brackets are ready to ship!

ALL SOLD OUT!!! I will be gauging interest for another batch in the near future.

The Camaro rear disc brake conversion brackets are ready to ship! The kit includes the brackets, mounting hardware, metric brake line adapters, and full instructions including a parts list with part numbers and where to get them. This is a simple, inexpensive conversion to complete.

See this thread for more details:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=249073

The kits are $92 shipped ($80 kit, $12 shipping). Paypal is prefered at glock35ipsc at aim.com.

Thanks!!

Sweet!! Those sure are some good looking calipers.. I've got a set of calipers coming this weekend. If anybody is interested in used calipers (i.e. trying this on the cheap) this is a good place to look.

Glad to see it all coming together for you. Thanks Bob.............Jerry

Re: Glock's Camaro rear disc brackets are ready to ship!

Mr. Bob,

You had said at one point that you were going to include instructions for installation, as well as a needed parts list. Does that still hold true? I'm still trying to figure out if I need to buy the parking brake brackets (described in your other thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=249073&page=2, my post #44).

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Glock's Camaro rear disc brackets are ready to ship!

Yes, they will include instructions as well as a parts list, with the exception on the e-brake cable bracket. I have a used set of calipers that will probably be eventually used as a core for new ones, so I will keep the brackets off of this set. I would definitely think a dealer could hook you up, but I will see what I can dig up.

LOL, I've been making/selling bracket kits for about a year now, the Camaro kits are just the newest ones.

Re: Glock's Camaro rear disc brackets are ready to ship!

Just an FYI for those contemplating powder coating.

Powder coatings range from as little as 1 mil thickness all the way up to 6 or even 8 mils thick. Somebody would really have to be trying hard to lay the stuff on thick to get on the high end of that range.

Regular spray paints range from 0.5 mils up. There really isn't an upper end, only an "acceptable" thickness (read: it don't crack and it looks good). Don't forget, however, that to apply paint, prep work has to be done, i.e., degrease, prime and paint (that's at the minimum - if you want it to last). Powder coating prep work essentially requires only that the surface be degreased, then powder coated.

So, hopefully, those interested can see that neither painting or powder coating (if applied within reason) is going to add much thickness. Sprayed on powder coating does. However, tend to be just a little bit "wavier." Take a block and some fine grit sandpaper and a couple of strokes will smooth it right out.

Also, FYI, 1 mil = 25.4 micron = 0.001"

What am I going to do? I haven't quite decided yet. I want to make sure that there isn't any mechanical movement between the pieces that would tend to "wear" the coating (whatever it is) so that the result is a loose condition - not what you'd want in brake mounting parts. I might even just clean the various mating surfaces, make sure that everything is nice and clean and tight and then apply either POR-15 or an Eastwood paint to protect the pieces from rusting. If I need them apart, then I may have a fight on my hands. lol

Re: Glock's Camaro rear disc brackets are ready to ship!

I guess that these brackets need to welded on the axle tubes, correct? What's the approximate total cost to purchase these brackets and get the calipers, and pads? Will the brake lines thread right in? Thanks!!

No welding, they bolt to the axle flange, where the OEM drum brake backing plates bolt to. Depending on where you get you parts (and new/used) it can be done for $300-$400. The kits include the metric brake line adapter to combine the Camaro brake hoses with the standard brake line fittings on the truck. The bracket set is $92 shipped.

www.mpbrakes.com (Master Power Brakes) has all kinds of info on what you need (and you don't have to use their parts either).

Here is the basic disc/disc setup: http://www.mpbrakes.com/uploads/docu...iscdiagram.pdf

I also found this: http://www.mpbrakes.com/uploads/docu...rearadjust.pdf That makes me think that such an adjustment is required for the Camaro PBR calipers. Anyone know for sure?

Harrol - I got you Paypal, thank you!

All of the Camaro brackets are sold at this time. I do still have several sets of the Impala caliper brackets left. I will be gauging interest on the Camaro units to possibly make another run of them sometime soon.

Thanks everyone!!!!!
