trouble lowering 71' leaf rear, want bags

OK, so here is the question. What is the best way to bag it in the rear, since I don't have trailing arms. All the trailing arm brackets are still there though.

I am in the process of setting up the chassis for my GenIII swap. Now I hit a few new problems. I did the rear flip but I am not happy with the results. Witht the amount of work to set up everything, I think I will just bag it instead.
The flip gave me more drop than I planned, so now front is too high.
The shocks sit too horizontal to work properly so I need to relocate mounts.
The axle is now too far forward in the wheelwell.

Air Ride just came out with a Air Bar rear setup recently. I belive it was being discussed in the suspension section.

Dont' waste your money with Air Ride. Over-priced parts to go along with their inflated egos and cheesy decals.

You can bag your truck for less than half of what ART charges for one of their "kits" ... do a search for "air bags" and you should have a couple of days worth of reading.

Here are some pics.

After researching, I am definitely gonna do 4-link. What are the benefits of parallel vs triangulated. I understand what they are, but which works better for bags? I am not building this truck to lay frame. My biggest concerns are performance.

The intended advantage of a triangulated 4 link over a parallel is not having to use a panhard rod to locate the axle. If you have enough room to triangulate the bars it can be effective. If you go with a 4 link, I think you would be better off using a parallel set up.

Another option if your not trying to go really low is a bag over leaf set up like I used on my 77 Cheyenne...

Thanks, I did know that, The PO used a camaro rear I believe. The leafs are only 2.25 wide which has been a big pain so far. All the trailing arm mounts are still intact, but I would rather not go back that route.

These trucks used the narrow leaf's.. the 73 ups arent a direct bolt in.. 1/4" wider. I used a 74 rear in my leaf sprung truck with the flipkit it works fine on the early leaf's.
