Need Advise on Purchasing a Truck Cover - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Good news - My son just got a new car.
Bad news - It pushes my truck out of the garage.

Saw that LMC sells a variety of truck covers.

Has anyone had any luck with them?

Are there any others that I should consider?

I have one from LMC,it works great for protecting against the sun however,i have yet to find one that keeps a truck very dry on its on. Covers are like anything else,you get what you pay for,do not buy the cheapest you will regret it.

California car cover... Love it... Man I can oly imagine my dad parking outside so I can park in the garage back when I was a kid....

Spend the extra dough and buy a Wolf Cover. It's form fitted to your vehicle, and provides great protection from the elements. I ordered the "Noah". Here's a link:

I have a cover on mine over here in the UK as it has to live outdoors and the cab leaks, keeps it much drier and it rains a hell of a lot where I live. Its not a custom fit one but it is breathable, I had to put some boards across the bed to stop it turning into a swimming pool!

I second the Wolf car cover! Its form fitting for our trucks, keeps water out yet breathes well. The fabric is great and it fits my SWB stepside perfect.

LMC expensive

check out jcwhitney they offer a wide variety from different manufactures and i've had very good luck with the covers i've gotten from them // mostly the more you spend on a cover the better the fit and longer it lasts

I have found the best bang for the buck in an all-weather cover is the NOAH fabric. It's much lighter than the Technalon, which used to be state of the art.

Search the Internet for prices. I have seen prices vary by as much as $100 for identical part numbers! LMC is generally high, as is California Car Covers. Summit Racing sells the Wolf brand at hard to beat prices and a low shipping charge.

"Fitted" means it has mirror pockets. The best deal I have found is the link I posted above. NOAH all the way

California covers sells the same exact one for over $100 more.

Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman. Worked part-time over the years for an engine builder and a classic car repair shop. Member here for 24 years! This is the very first car/truck Internet forum I joined.
