Red face Finally got my project home!

It's certainly not a cherry one owner, but I'm hoping to combine this with my 72 long bed and make a decent little truck. (sorry for the grainy pics. I had to borrow my daughter's camera)

What you think? I already know what the wife thinks..

A fine stack of parts that any collector would be proud to own. Wish I could buy them like that around here.

Re: Finally got my project home!

I'm glad it's ugly actually, cause when it's all put back together I'll look like a miracle worker.. At least to my friends and family. This isn't anything out of the ordinary for you guys.

Stoney, I'm not real sure what that thing is on the dash. I thought it might be something for a CB at first, but the cab's got one of those old cell phone antennae's on the roof so it might be something to do with that.

I didn't have much time last night to check stuff out. I'm anxious to get a spot cleared out in the garage and start dismantling it.

I like the wheels. I'm sure they are not everyone's taste but I think they look cool. It looks like you have a start to a good project. Congrats.

Re: Finally got my project home!

Oh and another thing about this truck. Back in the early 80's it was a really nice truck that got a lot of attention around town. The guy I got it from remembered it after he saw the license plate was ZZ Top on the title. Its been in the blackberries for the past 20 years.

Good question... I'm hoping to be able to do this with the little bit of money I have left. It certainly won't be finished or probably even painted, but if I can end up with a shorter truck than I have now I'll be happy.

Re: Finally got my project home!

Travis, Looks like a good project. Do you have any pics of your blue truck? Which parts of the blue truck are you going to use? Is it going to be a snb or a swb? Thanks again for the help with the wheels.

No problem with the help on the wheels Steve! That's what its all about.. helping out wherever I can... It was really nice to meet you also!!!

As far as the blue truck, you'll see it in my project thread I just started. If it looked like your truck, I wouldn't touch it!

You: "Look at the potential in that truck!"

The wife: "WTF???"

Just kidding, it looks like a great start to your project. Can't wait to see those two trucks turned into one sweet truck.

Nice looking start. Do you know what the taillights came out of? For some reason I really like how they look in the fenders.
