Dash lights

I replaced all the dash lights on my 67 and took my first night drive afterwards and I can't see sh*t. Is there any other bulb that will work other than the one listed for it? The one that lights the indicator just barely lights the pointer, but not enough to tell what gear I'm in. I guess just because they are new doesn't mean that they work. I'm going to check them all again, but I would like to replace them with brighter ones if available. Thanks

Re: Dash lights

This may be a stupid question, but have you adjusted the brightness by turning the headlight knob?

This got me a time or 2 in my BMW and in the pickup, I'm not used to that setup. But twisting the headlight knob adjusts dash light brightness.

Re: Dash lights

I did try the bright/dim on light switch but no luck. I was even going to replace the light switch to see if that would help, but I was told that if the lights were working then the switch was OK.
