Need a new rear leaf spring bushing - what size?

Well, I'm about to use a torch to remove one of my rear shackles. I'll ruin the rubber bushing in the process.

Where can I get a replacement bushing? Is it a standard size that I might find locally (quickly)?

It's a '72 C20 with original 2.5" leafs.

I just sold a set, missing a couple of sleeves, for $20 shipped, your
about 3 days late, sorry bud, try a vendor, I know Tim Christian in
the past has had some "Missing Parts" bags of this kinda stuff.

Parts stores can order them in by app. Spring shops should have them on hand by app.

The bushings for front spring eye and rear shackle spring eye are 1.5"Outside diameter, if you would like polyurethane bushings we have them in stock here and you'll find them on our site here

If you prefer rubber your local GM parts dealer can set you up though the last time I checked it cost twice as much for rubber OEM over poly performance bushings.

I got rubber ones with the steel sleeve at a local spring shop for 20 bucks installed.

Unfortunately there aren't any spring shops within about 60 miles. As far as the material to use, I'd prefer rubber. Especially since I'm not planning to replace both sides and would like them to match. The only reason I need a replacement is cause I'll be burning the existing one out with a torch.

I know, I know..........I shoulda replaced them while I was installing the shackles. Oh well.

IS 1.5 OD the correct size for a 2wd truck ? Im also trying to purchase new bushings. My old ones measure closer to 1.25 OD

I agree with everyone else especially GMCPaul. If you find the link from LUV...for sale parts, I think someone replied with the part numbers from NAPA. I plan on replacing ALL the bushing when I lower my truck. Bushings do wear.

I just spoke to the kid at Vatozone, who surely is a genius. Anyway, he said the system shows two different sizes: 1 1/4" or 1 3/32"

Does this sound right? I had him confirm he was looking at a 2WD 3/4T, so that shouldn't be the issue. The set is $13.99, special order. He said he could have them in 1 day and that they are returnable if they don't fit. Doesn't sound bad to me!

I can always hold onto the extra bushings and replace the others when I get a chance.

I live in FW area and there are lots of spring shops, surely Dallas has some. My shop charges 7 bucks each, per bushing, and that is installed price.

Look in the phone book under truck spring or alignment shops. Or, call any truck repair shop and ask them who does spring work. I mean truck, not pickup by the way.

That's just it, I'm up in McKinney and I've asked around. There aren't even any truck shops around. The only spring shop I know of is 35 min south of Dallas. Also, the leafs are on the truck, so installed price won't be accurate in my case. Wonder what a place would charge to R&R the shackle? It's seized up pretty good and probably needs a torch to break it loose.

i have a 2wd c/10 with the heavy duty leafs.couldnt get at advance or autozone.
went to napa they had them in stock around $9 each

just make sure you know what springs you have.the standard leafs and the heavy duty leaf option have different sizes.they had them both .

and i do remember they had the c/20 listed in the book
