Looks like they came in different configurations depending on the model they came on:

3973487...350...71........CORVETTE...330,270 HP
3973487...350...71-76...PASS, CAMARO, CHEVELLE, NOVA,MONTE CARLO...SMALL PLUGS
3973487...350...71-76....TRUCK.......LIGHT DUTY
3973487...350...72........CORVETTE...200,255 HP

76cc iron heads. Good, but not great flow, by any day's standards, but a little judicious porting around the bowls, especially the exhaust bowl, brings out some decent performance. I think they are a good truck engine head for 4x4s.

Re: head question

One of the better open chamber smog heads. If you can get vortecs thats the way to go. Interesting info here.

Re: head question

Gene Quick out here used to do that for Terrell Auto Supply (he raced some kind of dirt track cars where they couldn't used modified heads).

I think it's called cheating lol.

"I think it's called cheating lol."

I prefer to call it creative engineering.
