Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

Just what everyone needs, a C/50 drag truck!! Looks like it does pretty good for a heavy truck.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

Maybe it's because I've covered NHRA drag racing for over 28 years, or maybe it's because I've lost over 10 close friends who died drag racing, but these videos totally, completely CREEPED ME OUT.

Anyone with half a brain would not have been within 1/2 mile of that place. Wow. Unreal that in this day and age a promoter could put that many people at risk with such a large rig, all that mass, and no safety precautions whatsoever. Not a question of if, but WHEN some one will die.

Think what you want about my downer post. No one else gets to argue with me until they have also helped pack up a friends pit area and what is left of us race car with his widow after identifying his body at the morgue. I have.

If you were there - don't go back.

Re: Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

ive been to atv races (rodeo, drag) where spectators and participants will park and hang out in the shutoff area! one atv flipped 3x and landed within 2ft of a woman carrying a baby. i guess people just dont have any clue how quickly bad things can happen.

Re: Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

I have to agree with earlier posts. The races in the youtube videos looked about as unsafe as it can get.

Re: Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

When I read the ad I noticed that it was being sold without a motor and I thought "Bummer". Then I watched the videos and saw that he had a 572 in it, then I realized nobody is gonna sell you a truck for 2K with a 572 in it! Heck I'd give him 4K just for the motor alone! I was also shocked at the complete disregard to the safety of the spectators. In this country the local cops would have shut that down in a heartbeat.

Re: Hot Rod C/50 on Ebay

Would that thing be worth $6,000 minimum just because it was fast before they took the motor and trans out? What`s left that isn`t just a hacked-up (as far as stock goes) old medium duty, other than the rear tires? The bumper wasn`t cheap.Where`s the aluminum wheels or even a real paint job?

I think it was too dangerous for the racers as well. Two large trucks racing down a high crown narrow bumpy not even straight road that doesn`t even have the center marked! It`s sanctioned street racing.Sanctioned or not,it`s street racing, which is dangerous. The tradition of road rallying has come under the safety scope. This is worse. We had our "spots" for racing. There were only a few in a large area because it had to have all the stuff to be "right".The races were watched from the starting line or first stretch of 20-30',no farther.Only the one who called the race was at risk down there. These "spots" were on deserted stretches of road.
