For all you sixbanger guys out there
I was wondering which transmissions you guys run because im debating getting a new tranny or just getting my stock one rebuilt...Im not sure which would be the cheapiest route to go, I still have to see what it would cost to rebuild the one I have now or just get a new one, to make my final choice on how i should go about this. The reason behind this is that there is a horrible whinning noise when I take off in first gear and its sucking all of what little torque I have away. thanks for the help guys!

Re: For all you sixbanger guys out there
Currently and from the factory I'm running the stock 2 spd. powerglide.
I know a 200R4 would be nice behind any 6 cylinder, or at least that would be my choice, but the cost will be higher.

Re: For all you sixbanger guys out there
200r4 will offer you overdrive which will help with MPG.
With my 250 backed by the P/G I can ran from 12-21 mpg depending how I drive it, which I consider fair since the truck is 40 years old.

Re: For all you sixbanger guys out there
true true. i actually dont know how much i get per gallon because 1) my speedo doesnt work so i cant tell how many miles i've gone anndd 2) my gas gauge doesnt work so even if my speedo did work, i wouldnt be able to tell how much gas i've used haha.
on another note, does a 2 spd. gilde bolt right up to the bell housing and would i need to get a longer/shorter driveshaft in order for it to work properly?
