OK......3/4 ton pulled the 15,000 pounds with ease

Someof you already knew that a friend of mine was planning a trip over the rockies withhis c-20 pickup. He did change out the 350 Olds engine(I made him....I't mine) for the 455 and beefed up his rear springs. He said there wasn't too much lag. He mention that the 3/4 rear ends back then where able to towe more than the ones built today. And are on par with the 1 ton rear ends. Can anyone else confirm his reasoning? Because I'm having trouble believeing him with the towing of this monster 5th wheel?
