I know where a 327 from a 68 is in a junkyard in Oregon. Should I get it for $150? I really don't need it or have a place to store it, but I could arrange something if this is a great deal or someone wants to buy it off me...

Seriously, I would buy it for that price. I am sure you could find someone to pay you a few hundred for it anyway.

Doesnt seem like a bad price, just depends on it you have the money and you can see getting rid of it. I probably wouldnt get it cause i would have to haul it home. but if i found it at home i might snatch it. I would definatly get a 455 or other gem

i can always use a spare motor around the shop. but sereously if you dont buy it let me know. im in the portland area.

Only bad thing about buyin a used engine from a junkyard thats complete there isnt no telling if its cracked been bored 80 got a crank ground down 40 thousands or whatnot;

Althou some of them cars they pull engines in were wrecked but some of them im sure the owner messed the motor up and said F it and sold the car to the junkyard

See if you can turn it over a few times if it has a broke rod or anything messed up it wouldnt turn over all the way or be really hard.

I do believe that engine comes with a stock steel larger journal crank? Those 68-69 327's can fetch some good money, even for a core.

check the numbers, some of those were high out put stock.....

If it is good buy it to sell. Seems to me the 327 is made of gold to some folks. If you really have to have that displacement you might as well do it the cheap way a 307 crank in a 350 block. 283 is the same it will sell fast in my experience. More legend than reality in my opinion. Good luck.

Thats the good way to do it you can get a good virgin block that will make a clean .30 Use some Pink X rods or aftermarket large journal rods.

Could even use a roller 350 block with one of them one peice rear seal adaptors to use an older style crank.

It is weird. If you say 327 people jump for their wallets. Even if it is a low performance small valve two barrel small journal that has been bored 60 over with a rope rear seal. Go figure.
