I haven`t sold on-line before.What are the websites to get zip to zip shipping costs?And,how do you go about getting the weight of a given part?

I use ups.com or fedex.com as far as weight use a scale or ask the board.

small items and boxes usps.com, ups.com, fedex.com, bigger items goto freightquote.com and they get all the quotes from local truck companies for you.
If shipping wheels or wheels and tires I haven't found anyone that can touch FedEx Ground.

Thanks,I was wondering about getting weights,too.I see people coming right back with quotes,but how are they weighing so fast?What kind of scale would I use for big stuff?I have a`95 tilt column to ship,for instance.

I use a basic bathroom floor model. I weigh myself, then again with the part in my hands. Subtract the two, and I have a good base line to work with.

DHL is also shipping parts real cheap!

Don't forget about Greyhound freight service!!

I always have the part packaged the way I intend to sent, because box size and total weight make a difference.

I use a postal scale for light weight items (under 3 lbs) I found one at Walmart for $20. For larger items, I bought a digital bathroom scale that goes up to 300lbs Always add on for the box and packaging as mentioned.

I also have a cheapy hanging fishing scale but not terribly accurate.

Thanks,all.Never had a bathroom scale.Might help my wife watch her weight,too(that way,maybe she won`t ask that "lose-lose" question).

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
