72 locking axle nuts with washer order?
Recently purchased a 72 K20. Passenger front wheel bearing was loose. The washer was missing that goes between the two nuts. Does anyone know which nut goes on first and torque sequence? Thanks in advance!

Re: 72 locking axle nuts with washer order?
I found this on an old thread, not sure if it's accurate but it says to put the nut with the nipple on first, torque , washer and nut, torque again.
Sound good to everyone? "First nut gets torqued to 50ftlbs WHILE spining the rotor as you tighten. Once you click 50flbs back it off and tq to 35ftlbs, now slide the locking washer/ring on and if you have to move the nut to get the pin into a hole move to the closest hole counter clockwise. Torque second nut to 50ftlbs." |
