Weights

Would anyone have any idea the weight of a 12 bolt rear axle and a complete front clip (both excluding wheels)?

Need to ship one of each but have no idea the weights and no means to weigh them.

Re: Weights

By complete front clip what parts are you asking about? Sheet metal or Suspension?

On the 12 bolt knowing what vehicle it originally came out of might help a lot in getting an accurate weight as 12 bolt rears came in Camaros, Chevelles and full size cars over the years and an Impala 12 bolt is several pounds heavier than a Camaro or Chevelle 12 bolt.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Weights

This time it's the front suspension I mean.

Unfortunately I don't know what the rear axle is out. I believe it's out a truck and it's a 76 but that's all the info I have.

Re: Weights

About all I can find on the 12 bolt rear is that a Second generation Camaro 12 bolt runs right at 200 lbs according to the folks on the Camaro boards.
Here this link says shipping weight should be right at 300 lbs. you have to click on the "shipping' link. http://americanpowertrain.com/i-2091...-trans-am.html
